As the New Year draws nearer, the Korean entertainment industry is set to entertain K-drama fans with year-end award shows. One among them is the 2023 MBC Drama Awards, which will premiere this weekend.
The network has organized two shows—the 2023 MBC Entertainment Awards and the 2023 MBC Drama Awards. While the first one streams on Friday, December 29, 2023, the latter will broadcast on Saturday, December 30, 2023. The events are also available for live streaming.
MBC is one of the big networks in the Korean entertainment industry. It has released some popular dramas this year, such as A Good Day To Be a Dog, My Dearest Part 2, and The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.
MBC Drama Awards 2023 release date, time & more
The MBC Drama Awards 2023 will air on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 8:40 p.m. KST on MBC. It will live stream on the official website and also on KOCOWA+’s site. Only viewers from North and South America regions can access KOCOWA+ for live streaming. Those who won’t be able to watch the 2023 MBC Drama Awards live have to wait for a few days. The show will be available on Viki on Thursday, January 4, 2023.
A Good Day To Be a Dog’s Park Gyu-Young will co-host the event alongside Kim Sung-Joo. It is the actress’ first time as a host of an award show. She and her A Good Day To Be a Dog co-star, Cha Eun-Woo, are nominated in the Best Couple category.
Apart from them, the other on-screen couple nominees include Woo Do-Hwan and Bona from Joseon Attorney, Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun-Jin from My Dearest Part 2, and Lee Se-Young and Bae In-Hyuk from The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract. The ongoing K-dramas, which air on weekends after 8:40 p.m. KST, are postponed to next week due to the MBC events.
Other networks like SBS and KBS will also broadcast award shows this weekend.
